The founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) had great compassion for mankind and love of the humanity. He advised all his members that they should endeavor to benefit mankind to the best of their abilities and powers.
He said one of the most important ingredients needed in our recipe to serve others is to have love and sympathy in our hearts for others. Members of Majlis Ansarullah, elders of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community have great passion to serve the humanity and their passion is blind to colour, creed, age and status. To reflect upon these teachings and to fulfil the desire of our beloved leader His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Majlis Ansarullah has done excellent work in respect of “Gift of Sight” and “Water for Life” projects.
Gift of Sight:
Blindness is most prevalent in Developing countries Millions of people suffer from poor eyesight or even blindness because they lack decent nutrition and sanitation, glasses, or access to simple surgery. In the poorer countries, up to 20 Million people suffer from cataract blindness and around 180 Million suffer from significant visual disability. Majlis Ansarullah UK took the initiative to help most vulnerable people of Burkina Faso. In recent year Majlis Ansarullah has donated £160K to help 5,769 people to see again the beautiful colours of life.
Water for Life:
Water is quintessential for life, and yet, more than 30% of people around the globe cannot access safe drinking water and over 40% lack proper sanitation. These factors lead to increasing disease and premature deaths. In sub Saharan Africa and parts of Asia women walk for miles to get access to poor quality water for their families.
Africa faces huge challenges that adversely affect public health. One major challenge is the ability to access the clean drinking water. 115 people in Africa die every hour from diseases linked to poor sanitation, poor hygiene and contaminated water.
Majlis Ansarullah UK is committed to develop innovative approach to provide safe and clean drinking water to most vulnerable people of the sub Saharan countries. In recent years Charity Walk for Peace organised by Majlis Ansarullah has raised more than £70.000 to support Water for Life projects in the various parts of Africa to help tens of thousands people to have access to clean drinking water.
