Charity Walk For Walk 2016
Charity Walk for Peace made headlines for Silvertown when hundreds of walkers joined the scenic route around the Thames in the east of the city.
With perfect weather on their side, the event organisers inspired over 2,500 members of various local and national charities to come together and walk in solidarity for helping those in need.
Over 50 local, national and international charity representatives participated by taking part and raising awareness. Many thousands of other charity workers and members of the public spent quality time collecting donations. One such member walked door to door in his neighbourhood collecting money for specific charities whereas another member who owns a local shop donated £10,000 for the most vulnerable in our society.
The President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association, who fund the entire administration costs of the Charity Walk for Peace, said “It doesn’t matter how much someone donates, what is important is that we all get involved for the good of mankind.”

About Us
The Charity Walk for Peace was founded in the service of humanity, rooted in the call of duty and substantiated by our mission actuated not by consideration of reciprocity or reputation but rather our desire to win the pleasure of God through service to his creation. Our aim is to relieve the suffering of the poor and to promote peace, understanding and goodwill amongst people of all walks of life.
The Charity Walk for Peace is an initiative of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association – part of the UK’s oldest established Muslim community. Inspired by the tenets of Islam, the Charity Walk for Peace aims to relieve suffering and serve mankind regardless of colour, creed or race. By bringing people together to help others it works to promote peace, engender greater understanding and promote goodwill amongst people from all walks of life.
Since its inception in 1985, the walk has been held at different venues across the UK with thousands participating each year. To date, over £8.9 million has been distributed to over 600 UK registered charities. A number of regional charity receptions and walks are organised throughout the UK culminating with the annual event organised to benefit various charities that provide practical help and support to vulnerable people.
We want to help society and support charitable endeavours and demonstrate loyalty to our country and nation. The distinctive feature of the charity walk for peace is that all organisers are unpaid volunteers and have no administrative costs. All operational costs are met by membership subscriptions.
